State-wide finals of the young researcher section “Students experiment” for the 3rd time in Einbeck

Einbeck, November 22nd, 2023: The final spurt to register for “Jugend forscht” is underway: Schoolchildren, trainees and students can only register until Thursday, November 30th, 2023 to take part in Germany’s best-known young talent competition.

Anyone who makes it to the finals in the state competition in Lower Saxony in the category of the youngest researchers up to the age of 14 (“students experimenting”) can look forward to three exciting days at the PS. SPEICHER in Einbeck is looking forward to it. The final Lower Saxony state competition will take place there for the third time in 2024. The PS.SPEICHER FOUNDATION and KWS are once again co-hosting the competition from Thursday, April 11, 2024 to Saturday, April 13, 2024.

Stephan Krings, Head of Global Marketing and Communications at KWS: “We really hope that many inquisitive young researchers will register for this beautiful and important competition. In the past two years here in Einbeck they have shown that science is not a 'dry matter' but can be a lot of fun. We definitely want to see more of this, including from students in the immediate area.” Lothar Meyer-Mertel, managing director of PS.SPEICHER, adds: “There are so many young people with scientific talent. We know this as a recognized extracurricular learning location that has a lot to do with them. Some of them may have reservations about registering their idea with Jugend forscht. We would like to encourage you: take the courage to register! It will definitely help you move forward.” A lot of information about the state competition can be found on the company’s own Instagram channel @jugendforschteinbeck.

Interested children and young people are invited to submit innovative research projects in the areas of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology (MINT). Registration is very easy and can be done online at www.jugend-forscht.de. For now, it is enough to just determine the research topic and assign it to one of the seven Jugend forscht subject areas: working world, biology, chemistry, earth and spatial sciences, mathematics/computer science, physics or technology. Research, tinkering and experimentation will continue until the beginning of January 2024. Only then do participants have to submit a written elaboration of their research project. This year's motto is: "Get a head!"

About the PS.SPEICHER and the depots

Since its opening in the summer of 2014, the PS.SPEICHER Einbeck adventure exhibition has received national attention and continued strong visitor numbers. The basis of the exhibition is a collection of historical vehicles owned by the merchant Karl-Heinz Rehkopf, which he donated to the non-profit PS.SPEICHER STIFTUNG and thus made publicly accessible to the general public. In particular, the highly professional and modern way of presenting the collection has attracted great attention from the public and the media. The PS.SPEICHER shows the largest collection of historic vehicles in Europe at four other locations. Over 2,500 mopeds, scooters and motorcycles, small cars, automobiles, trucks, buses and agricultural machinery show the incredible diversity of global mobility history.
